Eliot Institute Web Manager

General Description:

The maintenance of a web site is broken down into two parts, "hosting" and "updates." "Hosting" includes both monitoring pages, links and graphics, as well as repairing problems when they occur. "Updates" involves adding pages, links and graphics and changing existing pages, links and graphics, as directed. The Web Manager is responsible for generally ensuring that all pages, links and graphics of the existing web site are open and working. This will include receiving input from users of the web site about inconsistencies or problems and repairing the web site, as necessary. The Web Manager will also update the web page from time to time, as related to changes in fees, adding new pages, removing pages, adding language to existing pages or making changes, as requested by the Eliot Board.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

1. The Web Manager shall ensure the integrity of the pages, links and graphics of the existing web site. This shall be done through:

a. repairing pages, links or graphics when a user reports a problem exists and:
b. periodic review of links, pages and graphics on a quarterly basis and as necessary at the discretion of the Web Manager

2. The Web Manager shall update the web site by creating pages, linkages and adding or changing language or numbers on existing web pages. This shall be done at the request and direction of the Eliot Board of Directors.

3. The Web manager shall communicate and coordinate at all times with the chair of the Eliot Communications Committee related to speakers, upcoming camps, the mission of the PNWD/CUC and the Eliot Institute. Similarly, the Web Manager shall communicate and coordinate with the Board Treasurer regarding how camp fees and staff compensation are to be posted on the web site.

4. If the Eliot Board requires that a Web Master be hired to re-design the web site of the Eliot Institute, the Eliot Web Manager shall cooperate and coordinate his/her efforts with those of the Web Master.

Qualifications:

The Web Manager shall have experience in maintaining web sites, developing pages, be able to make changes using an HTML editor, view changes in a browser window, upload and download to the Internet server, communicate actively with other Web Managers concerning improved software and finally be available and responsive to the needs of Eliot Institute’s Board of Directors.
